Description
The Marine Farmhouse demonstrates a comfortable blend of traditional form and subtle contemporary details wrapped around an extremely flexible and livable floor plan.
This simple yet unique house plan was originally designed and constructed for a site that had a beautiful back yard setting of woods and a stream. The house plan takes advantage of that by spreading the interior spaces out across the width and through the abundant use of windows.
One approaches the home via a continuous open porch, unencumbered by columns spanning the entire width of the house. An exterior nook provides the perfect place to have a cup of coffee and to watch the world go by. A similar open porch at the rear of the home provides an environment with more solitude.
The interior of the main floor features a functional mudroom, a mini office and an open floor plan filled with light from all directions.
Upstairs 3 bedrooms are neatly tucked in under a sloping ceiling - just like grandmas house. Cleverly placed dormers provide the interior spaces with additional natural light and views.
