DESCRIPTION

Richmond, an updated interpretation of the traditional cottage style, is a perfect first home. The wood frame, stone exterior, and steeply pitched, dormered roof exude warmth and hospitality. The plan, designed by Stephen Fuller, Inc., in Atlanta, includes a full basement and works best on a site that slopes downward from front to back. The plan's L shape allows for a large parking court and garage on a minimum-width lot.

The foyer opens to the formal dining room, defined by columns. Most rooms have 9-foot ceilings. The family room features a vaulted ceiling, fireplace, wet bar, and built-in cabinets. The kitchen, with in-line and island workspaces, flows into the sunroom with vaulted ceiling. The expansive master bedroom also connects with the sunroom. The unfinished basement includes space for a future rec room with a fireplace, bedroom, bath, and storage.
