DESCRIPTION

This house plan is modeled after the Stagecoach Inn built about 1850 in Chappell Hill on the old route between Houston and Austin. The historic structure reflects a mix of Greek Revival and local architectural elements. Our version, designed by Barry Moore of Houston, blends the eclectic character and regional charm of the Stagecoach Inn with the comfort and convenience of a modern lifestyle. Wood siding, a metal roof, and brick chimneys recall the historic original. Simple, square columns support the porch and focus attention on the entry.

Inside, the central foyer is flanked by formal living and dining rooms, each with its own fireplace. A third fireplace, in the family room, is optional. Nine-foot ceilings and wide cased openings between rooms create a spacious feel on the main level. An 11-foot-long hallway removes the first-floor master suite from activity areas.
