Southern Living Idea Houses

Our Idea House program began back in the early 1980s and continues today as we celebrate the rich and varied architectural styles of our region. Over the years, our editors have teamed with up the finest sponsors, builders, architects, residential designers, developers, interior designers, landscape architects, and subcontractors ...The end result, a wonderful series of comfortable and timeless, family homes that span the South. All of our partners have worked creatively and diligently to produce what we consider a “homes tradition” for Southern Living Magazine. And while many of you have visited these houses in person, we have now gathered 30 years worth of Idea Houses in hopes that you will enjoy seeing interior and exterior photography of these time-honored favorites on-line.
